We’ve got an exciting vision to create a faster, easier and safer roads and public transport network for NSW. But it’s challenging to deliver and as the population of NSW grows, there will be more people, more cars, more freight and more trips on our roads. So let’s find out what we’re doing with roads to help connect people and keep our State moving.
The people of NSW have made it clear that they want us to reduce congestion and improve safety. So we’re investing $51.2 billion in long overdue road and public transport improvements across the State, including a better connected roads network.
Across NSW, we manage more than 18,000km of State roads spread over an area six times the size of England. Our road network has over 4,000 traffic signals, 5,700 bridges and 29 tunnels, helping to move over 6.6 million registered vehicles and more than 60% of the State’s freight.
